Margaret has a good understanding of relationships involving coercive control and manipulation.
Margaret was admitted as a solicitor in 2000. Upon qualifying, she joined a firm in Marlow to head up their family department becoming a Partner in 2007, where she remained until 2020. During this time Margaret developed the family department and acted in divorce and financial proceedings, including for two Premier Division footballers’ wives. She was instructed on a prenuptial agreement with an asset value of £44million together with other more modest prenuptial and post nuptial agreements.
She has acted for mid to high net worth clients throughout her career and attempts to settle cases without involving the court, where agreement can be reached. However, she does not shy away from court proceedings where necessary to achieve an outcome.
In 2020 Margaret joined a specialist family law practice in Henley on Thames as a senior solicitor where she continued to undertake diverse family cases, including advising in cases involving disputes over dog and other pet ownership, a particularly distressing aspect of some relationship disputes.
Margaret is a member of Resolution, a community of family justice professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way, supported by a code of practice.
In her leisure time, Margaret enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, cats, horses and a few elderly sheep.
