Joanne Gibbons

Joanne is a Partner at IBB Law and leads the Criminal Defence Team.  Joanne has chosen to specialise in Criminal Defence work since qualifying in 1996 and has headed the Criminal Defence Team at IBB Law since 2007.

Joanne is a highly skilled and respected advocate who appears before the Court on a regular basis.  She has gained extensive experience in the field of Criminal Defence and her vast knowledge and experience has led to her regularly representing Clients who face the most serious allegations such as Murder, Rape, Manslaughter, Encrochat, Money Laundering, complex Drug importations, Conspiracy to Supply drugs and Gangland offences but to name a few.  Joanne is a highly regarded and well-established Criminal Defence Solicitor and maintains an enviable and loyal Client following. Joanne deals with all cases however complicated or sensitive with the same, characteristic, determination to secure the best possible results for her Clients, which results in referrals from Magistrates, the Judiciary and Barristers, to name but a few,  all of whom have the upmost respect for the passionate and committed way that Joanne represents her Client’s interests.

Joanne has a chosen specialism in and passion for representing youths.  Joanne has gained a formidable reputation for expertise in this particular area of law, dealing with the most complex and serious cases involving youths, whom often have their own very individual needs. Joanne has previously sat on the National Youth Justice Board, as the only Criminal Defence Representative, which is just one example of the high regard she is held in with respect to her expertise in Youth Law.

Joanne is often approached by television programmes to advise on Court processes and laws in particular in relation to matters regarding Youth Law.
