Exchange of Contracts
Exchange of Contracts
Buying a home is an investment in your future.
You need to find out as much as you can about the property you are buying before you decide to go ahead.
When you are happy with the Report on Title your lawyer will ask you to sign the contract ready for exchange.
You need to prepare for exchange by:
- Arranging building insurance if required for the new property from the date of exchange;
- Checking you have met any mortgage offer conditions; and
- Sending the deposit sum to your lawyer
This video is one of a series explaining every step of the property buying process. It walks you through the process of exchanging contracts and highlights any issues that you should be aware of.
