IBB Solicitors appoints second non-lawyer partner
IBB Solicitors, West London’s leading law firm, is pleased to announce that it promoted its Finance Director, Elaine Bohnel, to Partner on 1 May 2015.
Elaine began her finance career at Safeway Stores’ head office, after gaining her accountancy qualification, and worked there for 10 years. She joined IBB in 2001 when her family was young, impressed by the firm’s ambition and flexible approach. She joined as assistant to the finance director, progressing to financial controller, then in 2010 to finance director.
The achievements Elaine is proudest of during her time at IBB are: taking on the Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA) role with the advent of outcomes-focused regulation; being a key part of the implementation team for the firm’s new integrated practice management system; and of course, weathering the toughest recession in recent memory. Elaine’s fair but firm style has helped to navigate the firm through the stormy economic climate.
Managing partner, Steven Booth said,
“Elaine has shown herself to be a first class financial controller and finance director during her time with IBB. Her contribution during the difficult times of 2007 to 2014 was invaluable. She demonstrated her loyalty and dedication to the firm during the recent implementation of our new practice management system. She is an integral part of IBB and a very important part of our plans. The partners are delighted that she accepted the invitation to join the partnership.”
Taking a moment out from overseeing production of IBB’s year-end figures, Elaine commented,
“I was pleasantly surprised – and of course, delighted – to have been invited to join the partnership. Nothing stands still at IBB and I’m looking forward to helping craft the firm’s next three-year strategy and working to maintain its rude financial health.”
