Former banker faces huge divorce settlement
Pierre Lagrange, one of the richest men in the UK, may have to pay the mother of his three children up to half his fortune in what could be one of Britain’s largest divorce settlements. The multi-millionaire hedge fund manager might have to wave goodbye to around half of his estimated £331 million wealth, after leaving his wife Catherine to start a relationship with Roubi L’Roub, a male fashion designer based in Mayfair. His estranged wife, who has made a donation of £150,000 to the Conservative Party, could be looking at a settlement in excess of £160 million after the pair filed divorce papers in the family division of the High Court in August. Mr Lagrange’s former home in Kensington Palace Gardens, worth £90 million, was sold to the owner of Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich, in advance of the hearing. The most expensive divorce settlement in UK history came in July this year when the ex-wife of 64-year-old Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky received a payout of around £220 million.
